It’s humbling to see the accomplishment of the mission I set out on eight years ago, doing the work that I love and building a strong team of people who share the same values and passion for marketing that I do.

To know we have surpassed the vision I initially had for the business in terms of the number of brands we’ve been able to add value to, and the revenue we’ve driven both for our clients and Brilliant is exceptionally motivating.

I knew from the very start that I wouldn’t compromise on quality to build a bigger company.

We chose to be small and brilliant, not big and average, and as social media has grown up over the past eight years so too has Brilliant, diversifying our offering to add greater value to the clients we work with.

Trends have come and gone but we’re proud to always have stayed true to our goal of only creating brilliant marketing content that speaks to the right people, on the right way on the right channels.

I’m so proud to have been able to work with some of the UK’s most loved brands and support fledgeling startups on their journey into the wild world of building a food and drink brand. We’re also fortunate enough to still have some of our original clients, who have stayed with us over the years still working and growing together.

Running a business is one of the biggest challenges anyone crazy enough to take on can do, especially starting it from scratch and with no money (in fact I swapped my very first brand, photography and website for social media training). It’ll come as no surprise that we’ve had our fair share of highs and lows. For me, I think growing a strong and capable team that really embodies what it means to be brilliant has been one of our biggest challenges, no matter what someone has on their CV or how much they think they know about social media and marketing it’s become clear over the years that we just do things differently at Brilliant and that cannot be learned in a book or an online course.

We’ve taken the step to not take on junior staff or recruit solely on skills and accolades, this team is built on ambition, resilience and passion. It’s been said that we radiate positivity and that means so much to me as a business owner knowing that we have not always been this fortunate, (the wellness initiatives and focus on quality sleep may have impacted this too!)

To see how far we’ve come, and to know there’s so much more to achieve keeps me inspired to continue to make it Brilliant. I’m very thankful to everyone who’s joined myself and Mike on this journey.

There’s a brilliantly bright future ahead as we continue to grow and evolve this company.
