It’s official! We’ve been thriving on a 4.5 day work week for two years now!
In April 2022, we made the switch to a shorter working week, giving everyone an extra 10% of their time back each week and extending weekends by 25%. In fact in the past two years our team have received 52 EXTRA days off EACH.
Since April 2022 we’ve offered our team the chance to start each Monday morning at 10.30am and finish each Friday at 3pm. With more time to recharge and relax, our team is demonstrably happier, healthier, and more productive. This translates into increased creativity, better work satisfaction, and a higher quality output.
The decision to move to a 4.5 day week was based on considerations over factors including:
- How time was spent by the whole team throughout the week
- What times of day and days were the most efficient
- When were clients most and least active
- What times/days did team value additional flexibility and book the most time off.
From this we were able to see that Monday mornings and Friday afternoons were the least productive, clients least active, and were the days most often booked off. By adjusting our schedule slightly, we were able to essentially “trim the fat” without impacting client service and create a significant win for both the team and the agency.
Can we really be just as productive with less time? The answer is a resounding yes! Extensive research and trials have shown that moving away from the traditional five-day model actually leads to several benefits, not just for employees but for companies too.
So, here’s to two years of a smarter work-life balance! We’re getting the same amount of work done, maintaining the same high standards, and doing it all in less time. What a Brilliant way to work!
